On Saturday, March 5^th, 2016 from 11:00am - 4:00pm the Charlottesville, Dick’s Sporting Goods store location will be hosting its annual baseball appreciation discount day to assist families and players with preparing for the upcoming baseball season.

Any Northside Cal Ripken participant can bring in the appreciation day flyer (click here for flyer) to receive 20% off your entire purchase (some exclusions apply) on Saturday, March 5^th.  This is a great opportunity to not only get 20% off all of your necessary baseball equipment but you can also get that treadmill or kayak you have had your eye on because you will be getting 20% off your entire purchase! 

If you are unable to make it to the appreciation day event please remember that you can click this link - Northside Cal Ripken 2016 DSG Coupon - to print out your Team Packet baseball coupon sheet, which is good for discounts off your baseball purchases (as listed on the coupon) all season long.  You will not be able to use the baseball team packet coupon in addition to the appreciation day coupon on the appreciation day.

Local Baseball Winter Instruction/Training Opportunities

Northside Off-Season Basics Clinics @ The Baseball Company

Once again we are proud to host Northside in our Off-Season Basics Clinics.  This off-season, starting January 17th, we will be offering weekly clinics every Sunday from 1:30 - 2:30 pm.

These clinics will have multiple stations focused on the basic fundimentals of the game (hitting - throwing - fielding). 

Clinics will run until the first week of March.  

The instructor to player ratio will be based on number of participants from week to week.

The cost of the clinics will be $10 per session.  To register please include the dates in which you will be attending.  If you are going to sign up session by session YOU MUST REGISTER 1 WEEK IN ADVANCE, so we may staff properly.

Dates for clinics are as follows: 

1/17 - 1/24 - 1/31 - 2/7 - 2/14 - 2/21 - 2/28

All clinics run from 1:30 - 2:30 pm

Pritchett Scholarship Accepting Applications

What is the Pritchett Scholarship?

For over thirty years, the Northside Cal Ripken Baseball League has provided boys and girls in the Charlottesville area with the opportunity to have fun learning and playing the game of baseball. The Northside Cal Ripken League is proud to offer the opportunity for a scholarship in the amount of $1500 to a graduating student for whom the Northside baseball league was a part of their lives.

Who is eligible to apply?

To apply for the scholarship, the following is required:
1. The student is committed to continuing his/her education in either an academic or vocational institution.

2. The student is a former Northside player who has played baseball in or served the Northside Cal Ripken League for three (3) or more seasons.

3.The student must submit an application and essay (maximum of 1000 words) on:

The impact that youth baseball has had on your life.

When are applications due?

~All interested applicants should submit their documentation by February 29, 2016.

Hitting Clinic at the Dugout, Sunday 1/10/16

The Dugout in Ruckersville will be hosting a hitting clinic this Sunday (1/10) at 3pm
