2017 All-Star Tryouts and Information

2017 All-Stars Tryout Information
The tryouts for Northside All-Stars teams are coming up! Please read the following information carefully to determine the team(s) your player may be eligible to try out for and the dates for sandlot practices and tryouts. We understand that some families are confused as to what divisions their children are eligible to play for All-Stars. Our organization sets May 1st as the age cutoff for all our tournament/All-Star teams. Your child's age, according to league baseball is however old they are on May 1st, 2017. Example:
* If your child was born on May 7, 2009, then his/her league age would be 7 (even though on the tryout date s/he is actually 8).
* If your child was born on October 5, 2005, then his/her league age would be 11.
Children may "Play Up", meaning that a child who is league age 9 may try out for the 9u and 10u teams. The Board strongly recommends that players who are trying out for a team that is older than their age group also try out for their own age group. If a child tries out for an older age group and does not make the team, s/he is NOT automatically considered for the younger team, too, unless explicitly trying out. Please contact the coach of each team you are interested in being considered for. Players may try out for multiple age groups or may "play up" to an older age group's team. Players must show up for age group tryouts for all teams they wish to be considered for, which may mean multiple tryouts.
Tournament dates below are subject to change.

Carson Raymond Field Proposed Lights Project Funding Complete!

Northside Awarded Baseball Tomorrow Fund Grant To Light Carson Raymond Field

The NCRL Board is excited to announce that Northside Baseball has received a $41,000 grant from The Baseball Tomorrow Fund to complete the funding for our Carson Raymond Field Lighting Project.

The Baseball Tomorrow Fund (BTF) is a joint initiative between the Major League Baseball Players Association and Major League Baseball designed to promote the growth of youth baseball and softball throughout the world by awarding grants to support field renovation and construction projects, equipment and uniform purchases, coaches training material and other selected program expenses.

With the awarding of the grant, NCRL has raised the required amount to complete the project.  Additionally, we have received approval from the school system to begin the project on March 29th

We have worked closely with the schools to best leverage Spring Break to minimize disruption around their campuses.   We expect to complete the lighting project by the end of April.

Thank you to all our players, families and benefactors who supported our fundraising efforts.

Opening Day Information - Saturday, March 25th

Northside Opening Day is just around the corner!
Join us as we kick off another great season at Northside. Opening Day ceremonies will take place on March 25, 9am to approximately 10am at the Carson Raymond Field. We will celebrate players in the Junior Rookie through Major Divisions. T-Ball players are welcome to join us, but are not required to attend.
Players should arrive in uniform no later than 8:45am and find their coach in the outfield. Every player’s name will be announced. Players will have the chance to meet a special guest. We’ll end with the National Anthem followed by the ceremonial first pitch. Players are encouraged to attend and show their league spirit.
In order to make this event a success, we are in need of volunteers to help organize and direct the players on the field. This is a great opportunity to get in some, if not all, required volunteer hours. Please contact volunteer coordinator Cheryl LaRosa if you are able to help. Time commitment will be from 8:15-10:30am.
Thank you for your commitment to our league!
